Welcome to FlyShop 1864, located in Launceston, Tasmania. FlyShop 1864 is the family-owned shop of fly fishing guide and author, Daniel Hackett.
Why 1864? This was the year that trout first landed in Tasmania, giving birth to one of the world’s great fisheries.
What makes us different is that we specialise in creating many of our products in Australia, and furthermore, they are tried and tested by our guides day in, day out. This includes our 1864 trout flies, which are tied by us, in our shop.
We are also the only Orvis accredited dealer in Tasmania, and stock the award winning range of rods including the world’s lightest fly rod, the Orvis Helios.
FlyShop 1864 is the sister business to RiverFly Tasmania, where we offer guided fly fishing. We stock everything for the fly fisher, from trout flies to fly rods.
